Here is what I have found thus far:īurr Brown (now TI)'s best one is the PCM1795ĮSS's top competitor is the ES9012 (ES9012 is the stereo version of the ES9018) both Sabre32 Reference It helps to know this stuff, because when you are shopping for equipment which does DA Conversion, you can know wether the DAC chip is the flagship, or the SS Minnow.

Sony support reply me to buy their receiver STR-DN1080 that have included internal DAC with HiRes support.that s definetly is COMPATIBLE, but this not fit to me since I have a really good vacuum tubes amplifier and I need only a good DAC with HDMI IN and DSD native capable.Īlso Sony avoid to offer so much information about what kind of streaming is sent audio to HDMI 2, if is I2S in Ps Audio standard, if "handshake" between both ends are "agreed" only between Sony products or they are opened for any other brand devices.I've been poking around to try to figure out which chip manufacturers are making the most capable DAC chips. The HDMI AV separation allow you to split video and audio VIDEO only to HDMI 1 and AUDIO only to HDMI 2 and sent digital audio out. The question is how to skip the internal decoding that not offer a expected premium sound and use an external DAC capable to native DSD decoding using AV HDMI separation. Same DSD files sounds "BRILLIANT" when I`m curently listening from PC using an USB external DAC from Korg model DS-DAC-100m ( ) that have inside a Cirrus Logic chip CS4398 ( ) that have DSD support. that should offer be a "velvet sound", but it`s actually NOT ( ). In orher hand I found on the internet some photos taken from inside of this player and seems that DAC is AKM4452. Regarding UHP-H1 blueray HiRes universal player I can say that the analog output seems that not offer the "premium" sound that is expected to be.
